Introducing new innovations is no easy feat. From schools to the corporate world, people don’t like things to change. Being a change agent has it’s challenges, but once you identify them and practice solutions, success is not impossible.
I recently tried my hand at a simulation that allowed me to attempt to bring about change in an organization by introducing and rolling out a new innovation. Thinking in line with Rogers’ Diffusion of Innovations, I thought I would find success pretty easily but I was wrong. Factors come into play that I could not have anticipated and didn’t think were important.
